Advocates sound alarm as restrictive voting laws pile up

ADVERTISEMENT It’s a strategy that has worked recently in not just Florida but also Georgia, Iowa and Montana. Similarly restrictive bills are close to becoming law in Arizona and Texas. Republican legislators in Ohio’s statehouse introduced a voting restriction proposal of their own on Thursday. “This is a blatant and calculated attack on the right to vote,” NAACP president Derrick Johnson said of the Sunshine State’s legislation after it was signed. Body cams for police officers applauded I want to command Police Chief David Gillespie and the leadership in Melbourne for their decision to equip all their officers with body cams. I especially like the feature that activates the camera when the lights and siren of the police car are turned on. This will lead to an additional administrative burden along with requests for the footage that these cameras produce. The Melbourne department has already recognized this aspect of their plan and is taking steps to address it.
