COLUMBUS, OH â Fourteen rural Ohio school districts and their corresponding counties and townships will share more than $1.3 million from the sale of timber from Ohioâs state forests, according to the Ohio Division of Forestry.
âInvestments in our schools and communities are investments in the future,â said Gov. Mike DeWine. âThe funding provided by the sound management of Ohioâs forests through the Trees to Textbooks program is particularly critical right now, as educators are finding new and different ways to support our students this year.â
Through the Ohio Department of Natural Resources (ODNR) Division of Forestryâs Trees to Textbooks program, a percentage of the revenue generated from state forest management activity goes to the county, township, and school district in which the activity took place.
