Gov. Kathy Hochul attended a New York State Democratic Party fundraiser at Yankee stadium while lawmakers were still in Albany debating and voting on the overdue $229 billion state budget.
Monday’s start to negotiations between the MTA and its workers comes amid uncertainty surrounding the state budget which is expected to cover the transit agency’s deficit, but is currently 17 days late. Fare hikes remain on the table.
Richard Davis, 53, was named to the job Wednesday by a unanimous vote of Local 100′s executive board. Davis has been a Local 100 vice president and most recently was its secretary-treasurer.
