Stockton Springs Selectmen decided to end the town s contract with Town Manager Jennifer King as of their meeting May 20. The agreement would have been up for renewal next month. The board also hired Interim Town Manager Malcolm Mac Smith as manager for the next year.
Smith said the contract with King was ended without cause, an option that was included in her agreement with the town.
In other business, the board set Wednesday, June 9, as the date the Town Office will fully reopen to the public. The walkup window will be closed and the tent removed. The downstairs meeting room, where selectmen have been meeting for the past few weeks, is already open to the public, but masks have been required and no members of the public have been allowed upstairs.
