Early-morning fire damages Perry Township home

PERRY TOWNSHIP A residential dwelling sustained extensive damage in an early-morning fire Thursday.
Perry Township Fire Chief Justin Roberts said firefighters were dispatched shortly after 3 a.m. to 1550 Bowman Road and found fire and smoke coming from the front bedroom of the residence. The occupants of the home had escaped the blaze before firefighters arrived, he said.
The home, valued at $107,000, is owned by Todd Steinke. Roberts estimated damages to be $55,000.
