To comply with new state law, local school districts shut off drinking fountains, replace faucets and fixtures with lead concentrations above limit.

Board member Patrick Miller said the increases were “fair,” given the increases for other staff — including teachers — approved by the board last month. 

"We wanted to just do a few little things to recognize what you've given to this district over the last two years," board president Michael Wailes said. "And try, in a very feeble way, to pay some gratitude to you for that."

The new turf will come with an eight-year warranty, Weld RE-4 School District Chief Operating Officer Michael McCullar told the board. 

Two weeks after the school board voted to make masks optional most schools are continuing as normal but few are back to requiring masks, or close to it.
