"Monica" is an indie film about an alienated transgender (Trace Lysette) who returns home to visit his dying mother, only the mother Eugenia (Patricia Clarkson) doesn’t know it’s her son.

American Horror Story actress Sarah Paulson has once again proved she is an unflinching trans ally by paying for fans to watch film Monica.

"Monica" magnificently succeeds in being a few different movies wrapped in one, depending on the perspective of the viewer.

Despite critical acclaim for her role in Monica, the actress says she has not been offered a single subsequent role since the film premiered.

An Instagram post from Violet Crown Theater in Dallas shared that Sarah Paulson bought every ticket to its Sunday screenings of Monica.
