On the second floor are 12 standard rooms plus the larger QEII Royal Suite, so named because Princess Elizabeth and her husband, the late Duke of Edinburgh, slept there during their 1951 visit to Calgary.
The stairs up to the floor are lined with reproductions of pages of the Calgary Herald published to honour the visit.
