Trader Joe s Releases a Boba Frozen Dessert

Share this article Offering boba fans something to get excited for, Trader Joe’s has now introduced a new frozen dessert option riddled with actual boba pearls. The Cold Brew Coffee & Boba Coconut Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert is a vegan and non-dairy sweet treat made from coconut milk. Despite not necessarily being classified as ice cream, it sure does serve as a delicious alternative. The sweet coconut base is flavored with cold brew coffee made from Thai-grown Arabica coffee beans and accented by chewy tapioca pearls for a unique textural and flavor combination. Priced at $4.29 USD, the Cold Brew Coffee & Boba Coconut Non-Dairy Frozen Dessert is available now in frozen aisles at Trader Joe’s locations nationwide.

What was Trader Joe s thinking?

Full disclosure: I enjoy shopping at Trader Joe’s. I know I’m not alone. It’s a popular grocery chain, presumably for good reason. Indeed, in addition to stocking a number of tasty products, the company prides itself on its “helpful, friendly Crew Members” who “take care in maintaining safe and inviting neighborhood stores.”  So, what were they thinking when they fired one of their Manhattan employees after he wrote a letter to the CEO, raising COVID-19-related safety concerns? I have to believe the company now regrets that decision because in a matter of days public outrage over the incident has gone viral. At 5:05 pm on Friday, Feb. 26, Ben Bonnema tweeted that he had just been fired for sending the letter. Also signed by a coworker, it respectfully recommends a number of measures, including improved ventilation and air filtration, carbon dioxide monitors and a mask requirement for anyone inside the store. For those whose medical condition prevents mask-wearing

Is Trader Joe s Opening a Store in Midtown Miami?

Trader Joe s opened its first Miami-Dade location in Pinecrest in 2013 to much fanfare. The chain, which has a loyal fan base, then opened several more South Florida locations, including stores in  Davie, Fort Lauderdale, Pembroke Pines, Delray Beach, Coral Springs, Boca Raton, Wellington, and Palm Beach Gardens. The Miami Beach location, only the second in Miami-Dade, opened in August 2019. Plans to open a Midtown Miami Trader Joe s come on the heels of the news that Coral Gables will soon get its own Trader Joe s. In November 2020, news broke that Gables Station, a mixed-use project that includes retail and residences, would also house a Trader Joe s.
