We need to go back maybe 30 years, the rail industry from the very instance that the ntsb made a proposal for positive train control, the rail industry opposed that safety device. what has happened over the years is that the rail industry has said they cant afford it. but the railroads, particularly the freight railroads, are making significant amount of money and they cant complain that they cant afford positive train control. the railroad industry, of course, amtrack is another issue. congress...

The country, 23% have ptc. so the deadline is december of 2018. but theyve already indicated they will probably push that to 2020. stephanie, ive covered an awful lot of train accidents from california to the bronx to philadelphia to virginia all across the country and in every one of those that ive covered, the final conclusion was that positive train control could very well have prevented these accidents and prevented deaths. the ntsb has been very adamant about this, whether it is a human err...
