Flight and train schedules have been badly thrown off track by the foggy conditions. That has caused rampant delays and diversions of flights and trains. The Kaifiyat Express (12225) from Azamgarh and the Puri-New Delhi Purushottam Express (12801) also faced significant setbacks.

He stated that he had no other choice but to hire an interstate taxi from Kanpur to Jhansi to avoid missing his connecting train.

Chennai resident Karthik Mohan, who works as a Deputy Manager at Bosch Limited, filed the complaint against the Southern Railway, stating that the delay had adverse consequences for his future career. Mohan had booked a ticket from Ernakulam to Chennai on May 6, 2018, for an important meeting. However, the inordinate delay of the train caused hardship not only to him but also to NEET candidates.
