Manhattan: Dan Biederman’s column misses the mark on what has been wrong and missing at Penn Station (“Keep up momentum to fix Penn Station and its environs,” April 9). What is wrong is that we are still living with the decision made in the late 1950s to raze the original Penn Station and its triumphant public spaces and to later replace them with a subterranean transit hub in the basement of Madison Square Garden and 2 Penn Plaza.
