Dog attacks on sheep in Kerry in 2024 are to be mapped by Kerry County Council in an effort to identify the dogs and their owners.

Tralee’s Henry Lowe had retired from his role with the Friends of Able (FOA) project just hours before The Kerryman spoke to him on Thursday but rather than finding him resting on his laurels, Henry was already in the middle of planning his next adventure, a two week break in Lanzarote where he and his wife flew out to on Friday afternoon.

A dog attack in Kerry has left a dozen or more sheep, some in lamb, dead. The attack occurred near Killarney and was discovered by farmer at around 8am this morning.

Thousands of customers are without power across the county as Kerry feels the impact of Storm Isha this Monday. ESB crews are working hard to restore electricity to those without power but it may be tomorrow before electricity is restored to all locations.

The ESB says that over 155,000 homes, farms and businesses remain without power this afternoon, with the worst impacted areas in the northwest of the country

Kerry County Council is to commence mapping all dog attacks on sheep reported to the local authority this year.
