The Interstate 565 exit and entrance ramp by Toyota Field in Madison is finally open, and with less than two weeks to spare before the Trash Pandas home opener.
There was a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the Trash Pandas stadium to celebrate the opening of the ramps. Some may look at them and see an easy way to get in and out of the Pandas parking lot, but Madison Mayor Paul Finley sees it as a key aspect to improving North Alabama.

The City of Madison says it has not received the $1 million the Trash Pandas owe from the 2020 season. The statement comes following the resignation of Trash Pandas president and CEO Ralph Nelson on Wednesday.
According to the contract between the city of Madison and BallCorps, LLC, which is the group that owns the Trash Pandas, the city has to receive a minimum of $1 million per year through venue revenue. That money comes from a split share of money from parking, stadium naming rights and non-baseball events, among other things

The Rocket City Trash Pandas on Wednesday announced the resignation of Ralph Nelson, president and CEO of the team he purchased and relocated to Madison.
Nelson unexpectedly leaves the organization less than two weeks before the team’s first game on May 4 at Chattanooga.
In a letter addressed to stakeholders, obtained by AL.com, Nelson said he was leaving to pursue a new opportunity in minor league baseball.
“Today Ralph Nelson announced his resignation to the Trash Pandas. We thank him for his service and wish him the best in his future endeavors,” the team said in a statement.
