i want to close now with a glimmer of hope amid the horror. the pregnant woman who survived the miropol hospital bombing has given birth. this photo, and others helped illustrate the horror of putin s war. she was one of more than a dozen people injured in that attack, three people, including a young child, were killed. and this morning we have learned she s given birth to a baby girl. in this newly published photo, you can see her in a hospital bed while her husband is holding and cuddling their sweet new baby. we don t have more details about the baby s name, or more about them, we wish them all well, safety, health, we wish them well. thank you so much for being here, guys, sneen s breaking news coverage of this war on ukraine continues now with
the ukrainian forces that have managed several positions, looping around the side of it and bringing it under attack. obviously, that tactic that the russians have been deploying, putting in as much armor as they could and supplies they could through these transport routes, via this armored column. not working out, perhaps, as well as the plan that they hoped they would. we have seen an upsurge in air strikes taking place around the country and around the city as well as the russian forces sort of reposition, but the strategy is still in place. it is still, as we understand it, to try as much as possible, to encircle the ukrainian capital and to tighten the str stranglehold on it. there have been many instances of civilian residential areas coming into attack. we just heard about the attacks in dnipro and an attack further to the west in a city about 70 miles from the polish border.
under the imprisonment, i believe, of the russian military. so if anything goes untoward in any of these sites, i am concerned about the staff being able to react properly. i think it s a huge threat when considering the threat and stress they re under, fatigue. russia plans to carry out some sort of terrorist attack at the chernobyl nuclear plant, as we just said, is under russian control. ukrainians are saying they would then try to blame the attack on ukraine. no matter whether it would be a staged false flag attack or not, what does a terror attack on this facility or as you mentioned, any of the country s nuclear facilities mean? none of the plants there, the reactors are operating. so the big concern there is the
rather large amount of radio activity in the fuel being stored there. the other reactors, of course, both the spent fuel in the pools, and the reactor itself. and the concern i have particularly there is less a direct attack on the reactor itself, the reactor core. i would just observe at least in the united states the containment vessel for the core, the airplane crash, but that should not be very comforting because the plant depends on so many other systems not hardened on back-up generators, electricity supply and cooling, the fuel from the back-up generators. there are many of those systems that could be at considerable risk in addition to what we already discussed, the high stress levels for the staff
