CCARDESA launches projects to mitigate impact of Covid-19 on food and nutrition security in Zimbabwe

The Centre for Coordination of Agricultural Research and Development for Southern Africa (CCADERSA), with funding from the European Union (EU) through the Southern African Development Community (SADC), and technical support from Bembani Group, launched a project to mitigate the impact of Covid-19 on food and nutrition security using Climate Smart Technologies in Zimbabwe in December.
The project is an extension of the Global Climate Change Alliance Plus (GCCA+) programme which seeks to strengthen the capacity of SADC Member States to undertake regional and national adaptation and mitigation actions in response to the challenges caused by the effects of climate change.

The Sacramento Tree Foundation played a critical role helping the capital city earn the City of Trees moniker. Filling the shoes of longtime executive director Ray Tretheway is Jessica Sanders. Sanders will soon be moving to Sacramento from Washington, D.C., where she served as director of Science and Policy at Casey Trees.

The novel coronavirus has plunged the world in a second wave of crisis; businesses and organisations across the globe have downsized, industries have come to a standstill, and most countries around the world have experienced massive recessions and economic downturns.
