The West Bengal Police has arrested two people in connection with the attack on ED officials at Sandeshkhali. The first arrests in the case take place a week after the attack on the officials who were on way to the residence of Shahjahan Sheikh, a Trinamool leader and an accused in the alleged ration diversion scam. Sheikh is still at large.
The CBI on Wednesday conducted raids at 13 different locations in Kolkata and Birbhum district in West Bengal in connection with its investigation into an alleged cattle smuggling scam, officials said.
