Babil Khan to make acting debut opposite Tripti Dimri in Anushka Sharma's Netflix film 'Qala'
The project will be produced by actor Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Ssharma's production house Clean Slate Filmz, which had also backed 'Bulbbul'

Streaming giant Netflix on Saturday announced feature film 'Qala', starring Tripti Dimri and Irrfan Khan's son Babil in his screen debut. The new movie comes from director Anvitaa Dutt, who had directed Dimri in critically-acclaimed feature 'Bulbbul' that was released on Netflix in 2020.
The project will be produced by actor Anushka Sharma and Karnesh Ssharma's production house Clean Slate Filmz, which had also backed 'Bulbbul'. Actor Swastika Mukherjee will also feature in the film. Dutt described 'Qala' as a heart-breaking story "about a daughter who craves her mother's love."

Anushka Sharma's 'Patal Lok' starring Jaideep Ahlawat, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee swept the Filmfare Awards by winning all the major accolades at the event including the Best series Award on Saturday night.
While the lead actor of the drama series Jaideep Ahlawat won the Best Male Award respectively, the directors of the series Avinash Arun & Prosit Roy were awarded Best Director Award.

To celebrate and recognize the excellence in the OTT space, Filmfare has introduced the first edition of OTT Awards this year. It was a star-studded and glitzy affair. Bollywood celebrities including Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Manoj Bajpayee, Rajkummar Rao and Mouni Roy among others attended the award night. Notably, the only series released between August 01, 2019, and July 31, 2020, were considered for the award show. Amazon’s Prime Video's Paatal Lok and The Family Man won big at the award night. Both the shows notched five awards respectively.
