The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency’s State Bureau of Investigation on Jan. 6 carried out a search in rural Russell County near Hurtsboro where agents discovered a 48-barrel still.After a subsequent search of a nearby residence, Trooper Joel Hart said Tuesday that authorities seized about 325 gallons of illicit moonshine whiskey hidden throughout the property. Multiple items of suspected stolen property were also located, including flatbed trailers, a horse trailer, an AR-15-style rifle and documents related to identity theft.

MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WSFA) - Two people are dead after a single-vehicle crash Tuesday, the Alabama Law Enforcement Agency said in a release.
According to Trooper Joel Hart, the crash happened around 10:55 p.m. in the area of Chapel Road near Luther Street, five miles west of Wetumpka. Tobaius D. George, 28 of Wetumpka, and Miracle D. Johnson, 19 of Wetumpka, were killed in the crash.
Hart says George was driving a 2007 Hyundai Sonata when the vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree, and overturned before catching fire. Johnson, who was not using a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
