It appears that Seth Magargle was making fireworks in his utility room when an explosion ripped through his home at 3540 Linn St in Lycoming Township on the night of April 10, investigators said this week.
Legal firework activity is how Trooper Nathan Birth, a state police fire marshal, termed the probably cause for the explosion and subsequent fire that gravely injured Magargle and destroyed the home where he and his wife, Kathy, lived
Kathy escaped the fire unharmed, fire officials.
Birth said the fire was still under investigation as Magargle, 48, remained in critical, but stable condition with blunt-force trauma injuries at Lehigh Valley Hospital, Allentown.
