International Development Minister Karina Gould’s chief-of-staff Geoffroi Montpetit is leaving the minister’s office after five and a half years in the role “to become an administrator of the Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie”, according to Gould’s press secretary Guillaume Dumas.
Montpetit will be replaced by Frédérique Tsai-Klassen, who will take over as Gould’s chief-of-staff on April 12. Tsai-Klassen is currently the director of communications at the Canadian Embassy in Paris. She’s also known more locally at the founder and co-owner of the German-inspired downtown Ottawa restaurant Das Lokal Kitchen and Bar.
