This year started on a good note for actor Bonny Sengupta. Not only because the vaccine has finally come to India, but also because he is getting more work. “Being busy is good, right? I am glad that I am being able to do things like I used to in the past,” he added. Bonny recently finished the dubbing of his film FIR. Besides Bony, the film also features Ankush and Ritabhari Chakraborty. Bonny is also set to start working in Sayantan Ghoshal’s next film. Even though the title has not been finalised, it might be called Hirokgorer Hire. “We worked for two or three days early in January, but then things got postponed. We will resume shoots this month,” he said, adding, “It has started feeling normal again. There are shootings, appearances and I am glad for that. Everything is happing with precautions and that’s a good thing,” he said.

Two Bengali films are slated to hit theatres this Christmas. Baghini, which was slated to be released four years back, is inspired by the life and struggle of West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, but it is not a biopic.
Baghini maker Nehal Dutta said he was happy the film was being released finally and urged people to see it for cinematic reasons, saying it has nothing to do with politics.
Mainak Bhaumik directorial Cheeni is also releasing on December 24.
While Baghini stars Ruma Chakraborty, a popular jatra actor who also acted in many Bengali films, Cheeni stars Aparajita Adhya, Saurav Das, newcomer Madhumita Sarkar among others.
