Closures expected until Tuesday morning on Routes 136 and 138.

Those driving in and around Montreal on Thanksgiving weekend should be advised that major obstructions will be present on several roads, including Route 136, in the Turcot Interchange, the Viger Tunnel on the Honore-Mercier Bridge and on Highway 15 in La Prairie.

Major road closures in the Turcot and Saint-Pierre interchanges, as well as other major routes in and around Montreal will make avoiding those areas a wise idea for commuters who do not like headaches and the sight of brake lights. The Montreal Beneva Marathon will also cause multiple street closures on Saturday and Sunday.

Accessing Montreal's downtown core will be a little bit harder for drivers this Labour Day weekend due to an array of planned construction work. Montreal's Route 136 will be seriously affected as the eastbound section of the highway will be completely closed as of 10 p.m. Friday up until 5 a.m Tuesday.

The rebuilding of the Turcot Interchange is now complete, so Quebec is setting its sight on its next construction project: the Saint-Pierre interchange.

For drivers, summer 2022 will be marked by noise, dust, huffs, puffs, and likely more than a little screaming at no one in particular.
