Initial COVID vaccine doses administered to Grayson Co healthcare workers

Then, Wednesday afternoon, the Grayson County Health Department (GCHD) announced the agency received its first doses of the vaccine, with Grayson County EMS employees and Dr. Joseph Lee among the first recipients. “We are excited to announce that (the) Grayson County Health Department received our first doses of the COVID-19 vaccine and administered them today to local EMS employees, Dr. Joseph Lee, and a few health department employees,” the GCHD said. Health department officials reminded residents that the initial doses of the vaccine are earmarked for those most likely to come into close contact with coronavirus positive patients/people. “The first available vaccinations are required to be given to first responders and healthcare workers, and we will continue to administer those in the days to come,” the health department stated.

Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center receives COVID-19 vaccine December 22, 2020 The first doses of Moderna’s COVID-19 vaccine arrived at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center (TLRMC) Tuesday afternoon. Early Tuesday evening, Dr. Hani Bleibel, a hospitalist at Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center was the first hospital employee to receive the vaccine. He is pleased to know that the process will begin protecting not only his patients, but his family members. “I am getting this vaccine in order to help achieve herd immunity against COVID-19,” said Dr. Bleibel. “We have been preparing for receipt and administration of the vaccine since we were notified that we would be a recipient,” said Brittany Clemons, Chief Quality Officer at TLRMC. “We have seen firsthand the devastating impact of the virus on our patients, physicians, healthcare workers and the community.”
