Shifriss replaces group s managing director

She s not stepping down. Well, she is, but not for another two or three years.
I somehow got the idea that Audrey Heller was leaving Jewish Theatre of Bloomington (early), and that Amalia Shifriss was replacing her. Shifriss is, instead, replacing Cassie Hakken as managing director. And I m only admitting my denseness because Heller told me I m not alone. Other people have thought the same thing, she said over the phone. I should have known something was askew when Heller wondered why I wanted to write a column about her this month. Duh, because, like, you are wonderful, theatrical, remarkably humble, and have provided Indiana with its only Jewish theater. And, every play I ve ever seen at Jewish Theatre of Bloomington has either whipped up my imagination or taught me something of value.
