Their performance will include the following pieces: Partita No.2 for solo Violin in D minor by Johann Sebastian Bach; Passacaglia for Violin & Viola by George Frideric Handel; and String Trio in G major, Op. 9 No. 1 by Ludwig Van Beethoven. Stephanie Ruddy has been playing and studying classical violin for almost 30 years. She holds a Bachelor of Music in Violin Performance from the University of Hartford and Suzuki Method teaching certification from the Hartt Suzuki Institute. Wolcott Library sets live, virtual events for January

LITCHFIELD — Live virtual events at the Oliver Wolcott Library in January are as follows: Monday Scholars — American Military History: From Colonials to Counterinsurgents, Mondays 1-2:30 p.m.; Jan. 4 through March 29 (no meeting Feb. 15). Monday Scholars combines online learning with live virtual discussion. Participants log in and together, via Zoom, all will watch two video lectures presented by General Wesley K. Clark. Then, via Zoom, OWL’s Karen Pasternak will lead a discussion. American Military History is a course that explores warfare the way it’s taught at the United States Military Academy. Through personal experiences, General Clark guides viewers through three centuries of conflict: from the American Revolution through the War on Terrorism.
