NXT Champion Finn Balor s challenger for New Year s Evil will be decided tonight.
A number one contender s match between Kyle O Reilly and Pete Dunne will take place on tonight s episode of NXT. The winner will challenge Balor at NXT New Year s Evil on Wednesday, January 6.
WWE has announced that tonight s O Reilly vs. Dunne match will have uninterrupted bell-to-bell action.
O Reilly, Dunne, Damian Priest, and Scarlett all confronted Balor last week. Balor told Scarlett to tell Karrion Kross that whenever he s ready, Balor s ready. After Priest insulted Kross and Scarlett, Kross returned later in the show and attacked Priest.
Kross will be back in action tonight, returning for the first time since suffering a separated shoulder and having to relinquish the NXT Championship this August. Kross opponent hasn t been announced.

[Hour One] No intro video this week. The show immediately cut to Kushida and Leon Ruff already in the ring with Kushida getting his entrance theme playing. Vic Joseph, Wade Barrett, and Beth Phoenix were the commentary team…
1. “The Way” Johnny Gargano and Austin Theory (w/Candice LeRae, Indi Hartwell) vs. Kushida and Leon Ruff. Gargano and Theory did their no-look slow high five before the bell. Gargano teased starting the match before he quickly tagged in Theory to face off against Kushida. Kushida spanked Theory on the floor while toying with him in the chain wrestling sequence. Kushida dragged Theory to the ground and tagged in Leon Ruff for some follow up. Ruff did some parkour evasions on the corner to keep Theory under control. Theory took over the match after blindsiding a confident Ruff.
Triple H Has Big Praise For Tyler Rust After His WWE NXT In-Ring Debut

This week’s WWE NXT episode saw Tyler Rust make his in-ring debut for the company.
Rust worked a hard-fought match against Tommaso Ciampa, but lost. Timothy Thatcher came to ringside during the match to further his feud with Ciampa. There was an angle mid-match where Rust was tossed to the floor in front of Thatcher. Ciampa worked Rust over while taunting Thatcher. Rust accidentally kicked Thatcher as Ciampa moved. Rust returned to the ring while Ciampa and Thatcher argued until referees broke it up.
