Details of his condition were not released. The shooting was the second violent crime to be reported in Cherry Hill in recent weeks. A Delaware man, 64-year-old Leopold McKoy, was shot to death April 4 at the Sergi Farms apartment complex on Abbey Road off Marlkress Road. A Cherry Hill resident, 26-year-old Tymere Brown, has been charged with murder and weapons offenses in that case.

Man Arrested in DE, Charged With Fatal Shooting in Cherry Hill

Authorities say a man has been arrested and charged for his role in a fatal shooting in Cherry Hill earlier this month. Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill Mayer and Cherry Hill Police Chief William Monaghan say 26-year-old Tymere Brown of Cherry Hill has been charged with one count of first-degree murder, one count of second-degree unlawful possession of a weapon, and one count of second-degree possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose. Mayer s office says, Police were called to an apartment complex on the 1700 block of Abbey Road on April 4 around 4:30 a.m. for a report of a shooting in the parking lot. When they arrived, they found Leopold McKoy, 64, of Bear, D.E., suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. McKoy was pronounced dead at the scene.

Late Wednesday night, Acting Camden County Prosecutor Jill S. Mayer and Cherry Hill Police Chief William “Bud” Monaghan announced the arrest of 26-year-old Tymere Brown. The Cherry Hill man was charged with first-degree murder and weapons violations. Witnesses had identified Brown as the gunman, prosecutors said. U.S. Marshals tracked him down and arrested him at a Wilmington, Delaware, apartment Wednesday night. He was being held in Delaware, awaiting extradition back to Camden County. It was unclear if Brown had an attorney who could comment on his behalf. Barry Sharer, the president of New Jersey-based AAH Management Co., Inc., said that McKoy didn t live at Sergi Farms and that the management company was working with police to ensure the safety of all residents.
