Tyrone Township meetings virtual until May 31

 The board made this decision because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.  Township Supervisor Michael Cunningham had declared the local state of emergency pursuant to his authority set forth in the Emergency Management Act, 1976 Public Act 390.  The township board also voted in favor of temporarily holding its open meetings electronically until May 31.

White Lake Road to be resurfaced

 The Tyrone Township Board of Trustees approved an agreement to improve White Lake Road between Carmer and Hartland roads, approximately three-quarters of a mile.  The road improvement project includes placing a hot mix asphalt wedge course and hot mix asphalt overlay, altogether with the necessary related work. The work will be completed within the current contract year, unless the parties otherwise so agree.  According to the engineering report, the estimated cost is $260,000.  Tyrone Township will pay the Livingston County Road Commission 50 percent of the cost of the project, not to exceed $130,000. The remaining balance will be paid by the road commission.

April 5, 2021 Clearance has been granted for improvements to a stretch of road in Tyrone Township. At the latest meeting of the Tyrone Township Board of Trustees, officials approved a contract with the Livingston County Road Commission for work to be done on White Lake Road. Approximately .75 miles between Carmer Road and Hartland Road will get a hot mix asphalt wedge and overlay within the current contract year. The estimated cost for the project is $260,000, with the township paying half of that, or $130,000. Township Supervisor Mike Cunningham said that if it exceeds the Engineer’s Opinion of Probable Cost, the remaining balance will be paid by the Road Commission.
