ULFA disbands itself after peace agreement, to hand over arms
After nearly four decades, the United Liberation Front of Asom (ULFA) disbanded in a meeting at Sipajhar. Following a settlement with the Indian government on December 29, ULFAs chairman, Arabinda Rajkhowa, announced the decision to dissolve. The outfit, comprising around 700 members, will vacate designated camps, surrender arms, and end its existence.
