The execution of over N490million water schemes project in Gashua, Bade Local Government Area of Yobe State, has been fraught with corruption and therefore abandoned as the residents continue to suffer the harrowing effects. According to investigations, the project was awarded by the Federal Ministry of Water Resources in 2020 and is situated in the Senate President, Ahmed Lawan’s senatorial district in Yobe North.

The National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS) has elected Comrade Umar Barambu from the Federal University, Dutse  as its new President. Barambu, a student of Economics and Development Studies got 292 votes to defeat his closest rival, Umar Farouk Lawan who scored only 8 votes. The election was held at the old parade ground, Abuja.
