SRINAGAR: Former JK Chief Minister Ghulam Nabi Azad-led DPAP on Friday won the elections to the post of Baramulla Municipal Council chairman. DPAP candidate Umer Kakroo was declared the newly elected chairman of Baramulla MC after he defeated his opponent Tauseef Raina by a margin of single vote.

Baramulla: The youth congress leader and president Municipal Council Baramulla (MCB) Umer Azhar Kakroo has been removed as the president , after he lost the no confidence motion moved against him on Saturday in the office of the MCB. Executive officer MCB Imtiyaz Ahmad said that a floor test was conducted on Saturday in which 12 councillors participated out of total 19.
