Soldier Travis King Charged With Desertion After Crossing Into North Korea

The U.S. Army has charged Travis King with desertion after he crossed the border from South Korea during a tour of the demilitarized zone in July.

The U.S. Army charged Travis King, the private who bolted into North Korea unauthorized and was released in September, with crimes including soliciting child pornography and desertion, Reuters reported.

King is also accused of assault against fellow soldiers and solicitation of child pornography

King's mother expressed her unconditional love and asked that her son "be afforded the presumption of innocence".

Details are still scarce about Kings treatment in North Korean custody
