A single ray of sunshine from the heavens has been captured on camera shining down on Queen Elizabeth IIs coffin, during a procession to transport her to St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh.

Respectful well-wishers have been overcome with emotion, after queueing for hours through the streets of the Scottish capital. A poignant vigil was held inside St Giles Cathedral this evening.

A COUNCILLOR who was among those who cheered the Queen at her Coronation has expressed sorrow at her death.

Council leaders held a proclamation for King Charles III.

Led by a lone piper from Balmoral playing a lament, Her Majesty was carried from the Palace of Holyroodhouse where she was lying in rest since a six-hour journey from her Aberdeenshire yesterday.
