Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has revealed that the “New Deal for Football” will result in the Premier League sharing more than 20 per cent of its central income.
The Premier League earns almost £3.5billion a year from its media rights and commercial deals and, while the exact number is hard to pin down, it shares around £500m, or 15 per cent, with the English Football League, various community programmes and organisations such as the Professional Footballers’ Association.
