Let me mention her first book about women after the civil war. Another multiple prizewinning book. Dr. Hunter has agreed to come here today and talk with us specifically about the history of emancipation, the end of slavery during the civil war, a topic always on peoples agenda for teaching and discussion but particularly widely discussed earlier this summer the anniversary of juneteenth.
