Kampala- National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi, alias Bobi Wine, has said he is stuck with his wife Barbara Intungo Kyagulanyi and an 18-month old baby without food following the siege by security on his home in Magere since last week.
Bobi Wine told Daily Monitor by telephone last evening that for six days now, his family has been surviving on food they had stocked in the house but without the milk for the baby.
“As you know, we have tried to go and pick up some food but my wife was stopped at the gate by the security. The people who were willing to bring us food have all been blocked and we have the baby of my wife’s sister. The father, who had dropped her off was blocked from coming to pick her up but now we have run out of food,” Bobi Wine said during the interview.

National Unity Platform (NUP) presidential candidate Robert Kyagulanyi s home is under siege because he undertook to make Uganda ungovernable like Libya, Iraq and Sudan, the attorney general has today told the High court in Kampala.
While appearing before the outgoing head of Civil Division of High court justice Michael Elubu, the state attorney Martin Mwangusha defended government s actions of deploying at Kyagulanyi s home and denying him his right to free movement.
Bobi Wine, a Ugandan opposition leader remains under “house arrest”, his party said on Sunday after a disputed election returned President Yoweri Museveni to office for a sixth term.
The former ragga singer turned lawmaker came second in the recently conducted presidential election and has said the process was marred by widespread fraud and violence.
“He has not left his home since he went out to vote in the election on Thursday, and on Friday said he was under “siege” as soldiers and police surrounded his home, preventing anyone from entering or leaving.
“Our leader … is effectively under house arrest,” National Unity Platform spokesman Joel Ssenyonyi told a press conference, adding no one was being allowed access.
