The Marshalltown Fire Department responded with Marshalltown Police Department and Unity Point EMS to 108 N. 11th Street to a reported house fire in the early morning hours on Sunday.
The fire was called in by a motorist. On arrival, size-up was completed and fire was visible on the first floor and in the attic at the rear of the building. No one was living in the home at this time.
Crews deployed two handlines and made an interior fire attack on the first floor. Crews were successful in extinguishing the main body of the fire, but the attic space was not accessible as the interior staircase had burned away.

Props off to you, Peoria County. Keep it up.

I’m in DuPage County and received mine quick.
Everybody I’ve talked to that got their vaccine in Peoria has been extremely happy. Some got their first shot the same day they requested an appointment.
Very welcome news. I’m feeling better about our state’s progress with Pritzker’s tweet yesterday saying IL will be receiving 100k doses a day by mid-March.
