Search and rescue officials at Red River Gorge said a University of Kentucky student was found dead after a fall. That student has been identified as, Gabriella Smith, a native of Alexandria, according to information provided by the university Wednesday afternoon to the Enquirer.
Red River Gorge Geological Area, a popular area of the Daniel Boone National Forest frequented by hikers and campers is located in Slade, Kentucky.
University of Kentucky College of Medicine Dean, Robert DiPaola, has released a statement.
