NOIDA: Five organs the heart, a lung, liver and a pair of kidneys of a 44-year-old woman who was admitted to Fortis Hospital and declared brain dead after Wednesday midnight were sent to five patients across four cities on Thursday for transplants.
While the heart was for a patient in Chennai, the lung was sent to Mumbai. Two patients at Noida’s Fortis Hospital received one kidney and the liver.

The other kidney was sent to a patient at Fortis Hospital in Delhi s Shalimar Bagh. Both the heart and lung transplants were under way till late on Thursday night.
