and no jets were scrambled. one family asked today what if they had scrambled jets, what a different outcome we could have. the scope of the investigation is broadening rather than narrowing and they re now refocusing on the pilots here. we learned a little bit more about the timeline of the investigation in this press conference, the fact that they said they not on went to the homes on saturdays, but they vitsed the pilo visited the p homes the day after the plane went missing. they ve got security video showing the pilots coming in, going through security. it s youtube video. we can t confirm it. we ve seen this many searching the home, they seized that flight simulator. i want to share this with your viewers on new day.

that s just inches short of the all-time record that was set back in 937. low-lying areas, as you can see, being swamped, forcing hundreds of people from their homes. and now the slow-moving disaster is heading downstream to mississippi. in vicksburg, the river is swallowing up homes, and the river is not expected to crest until next week, so folks are racing to protect themselves from this epic deluge. we re going to already be displaced for months to come because it takes a long time to repair, you know? the way our government works around here, it s not too helpful. trust me. well, shelters are now open in the area, and farmers are already applying for federal aid. fox s steve harrigan is live in vicksburg. what s the latestsome. reporter: what you re seeing is a real intense effort
