Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national spokesperson Sudhindra Bhadoria on Tuesday rejected the exit polls which predicted the victory of the BJP in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, saying that the Mayawati-led party will emerge victorious.
Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Akhilesh Yadav accused the ruling BJP on Tuesday of attempting to “steal” votes and said exit polls are meant to create a perception that the saffron party will emerge victorious in the Uttar Pradesh election.
Most pollsters and analysts focus, and correctly, on measuring the popular vote percentage of parties in order to determine which party will win the highest number of seats.
The BJP won the last UP election in a landslide. A victory margin so big that many, if not most, observers sense that it cannot be overcome by the Opposition.
