The Chinese Peoples Liberation Army (PLA) has handed over the abducted 17-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh to the Indian Army, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said on Thursday. Miran Taron was kidnapped on January 19 from Lungta Jor area under Siyungla area of Upper Siang district.

Nineteen-year-old Miram Taron of Jido Village in Upper Siang district of Arunachal Pradesh was found missing on January 18.

The 17-year-old youth from Arunachal Pradesh who went missing on 18 January after border crossing has been recently located and he is now handed over to the Indian Army.

A BJP MP had claimed that the Chinese Army abducted Miram Taron from Indian territory.

Union Law and Justice Minister Kiren Rijiju on Wednesday said that the missing youth from Arunachal Pradesh Miram Taron, who was reportedly kidnapped a week ago from the Indian territory near LAC, would be handed over by the China's People's Liberation Army (PLA) soon. The date and time would soon be intimated, he said.

The Indian Army and the Chinese PLA have exchanged hotline over a missing Arunachal youth and China hinted at his release, Union Minister Kiren Rijiju said.

Last week, a BJP MP had claimed that the Chinese troops have abducted a 17-year old. On January 23, China confirmed that it has found a boy.

The MP informed that Miran was abducted on Tuesday 18 January from the area of Lungta Jor that comes under the Siyungla location.

Union Minister of Law and Justice Kiren Rijiju said the Indian Army has shared identity, personal details and a picture of the 19-year-old boy, who went missing from Arunachal Pradesh, with the Chinese side.
