East Float, a new community will form part of the Northbank neighbourhood at Wirral Waters in Merseyside. The new CGI - unveiled to the media by House by Urban Splash and Peel L&P following a press tour of the site this morning - shows the distinctive, red Row House homes, a new take on the Victorian terrace which comes in three sizes and layouts. Row House is surrounded by Town House homes – properties which occupy a prime position overlooking the water – and the Mansion House apartments. The first homes will be launched at an event in the summer. No details of house prices has been released at this stage.
Here s what the homes might look like (Credit Urban Splash) A radical new type of housing is set to come to Wirral this spring. Housing provider Urban Splash is bringing homes which can be customised by their owners at Wirral Waters’ East Float development. East Float, a project by Urban Splash and Peel L&P, will create around 350 homes using a “bold and innovative” new approach. Included in this figure is the colourful red-clad Row House homes, the first of which will launch for sale this spring. This is just one part of Wirral Waters, with the overall project set to provide 13,500 homes over the next 25 years and potentially create up to 20,000 jobs.

SCOOTER…They said it wouldn’t work after Mobike, but rather than fleeing while counting the cost of an ill-fated attempt to boost active travel in Greater Manchester, e-scooter firm Lime is extending its Salford trial. When the scheme was announced, there were concerns that most of the scooters would end up rusting in the Irwell at the hands of heartless vandals, but it seems the sophisticated geo-fencing technology that prevents the scooters from being ridden outside of designated zones is working. The company has reported 12,000 successful rides since the trial began last year and has decided to extend its parameters beyond the University of Salford’s Peel Park campus to MediaCityUK.
