Wanted: 400 acres for comprehensive waste management

In a recent meeting with Deputy Chief Minister and Bengaluru in-charge minister DK Shivakumar, the issue of Bengaluru’s waste problem was thoroughly discussed. The outcome of the deliberations was the decision to establish four comprehensive waste treatment centres, with each plant allocated 100 acres, strategically positioned in four directions of the city.

Bengaluru Urban Deputy Commissioner KA Dayanand said, “In line with the Supreme Court directive, only green crackers will be sanctioned this Deepawali. These green crackers will feature a unique QR code, ensuring verification during the buying or selling process. Throughout Deepawali, crackers will only be allowed to be burst between 8 pm and 10 pm.”
