The city of Talent, burned over by the Almeda Drive fire, is working toward restoring lost trees, with help from the federal government. Mike Oxendine chairs TUFC, Jason Clark sits on the city council, and Brianna Truden works for the Park Service.
The trees of Talent are being measured and counted in a volunteer-led survey with a higher purpose to thoughtfully create a new urban forest for the recovering city.

“For the longest time it’s been about economics and it’s been a supposed mission of our elected officials to improve quality of life in Dickinson in terms of opportunities in the community, but a major factor in the quality of life is how a town looks,” says Darcy Kovash.
