Sarah Carnes, health system specialist at the Bedford VA Medical Center, will speak on “Pandemic: On the Front Lines of the Life-or Death Battle with COVID-19” at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 8 by Zoom webinar in a talk sponsored by the Lexington Veterans Association.

When COVID-19 struck the Bedford VAMC in February 2020, Carnes was detailed as the acting emergency manager, coordinating the emergency planning and management of the VA Bedford Healthcare System’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic, which included infection control, testing and outbreak management. She never hesitated to take on this daunting task.
