The Department of Health (DOH) on Thursday pushed for a stronger vaccination campaign after the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) tagged the Philippines as a Level 3 destination for a “high level” of COVID-19.

The US CDC advised travelers to the Philippines to make sure they were up to date with their COVID-19 vaccines before making the trip. It said those who weren't up to date with their vaccine shots should avoid travel to the country.

According to the CDC, tens or hundreds of thousands of cases and hundreds or thousands of deaths each day from COVID-19 will be “here to stay.”

Monkeypox Cases: The US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) said it was aware of more than 700 global cases of monkeypox, including 21 in the United States, with investigations now suggesting it is spreading inside the country.

Dr NK Arora, Chairman, COVID working group National Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (NTAGI), said, "Monkeypox is not as contagious or severe as Covid-19. However, its spread is a matter of concern. It will have severe output in those immunocompromised."
