India News: The Supreme Court directed the Uttar Pradesh government to facilitate the admission of the Muslim boy to a private school. Tushar Gandhi, great-grands
The Supreme Court slammed the Uttar Pradesh government on Friday for not counselling students who were allegedly instructed by their school teacher to slap a Muslim boy for not doing his homework.
The HC allowed the state of UP to file a status report on the same within two weeks. The court was hearing the plea by a couple – a 21-year-old man and a 19-year-old woman – who, seeking protection against threats made by the girl's relatives, claimed that on the intervening night of February 16 and February 17, certain persons, believed to be from UP police, “lifted” them and brought them to Modi Nagar police station in Ghaziabad.
