After visiting the site of tunnel inside which 41 labourers have been trapped after it collapsed on November 12, Dhami said that auger machine that was involved in drilling through the debris from Silyara side is expected to be pulled out till tomorrow morning after which manual drilling will begin.
The drilling process was stopped on Thursday because of obstructions, but the repair work is being done to restart the process, using an auger machine, shortly.
The minister for road transport and highways, who was accompanied by Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, said the rescue operation is challenging as the soil strata in the Himalayan region is not uniform.
